“Don’t get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water”
Bruce Lee quotation in an interview.
This is a great explanation of the philosophy of Mixed Martial Arts allowing a contender to follow his instinct rather than confining himself to a particular form of Martial Arts when competiting, as explained by the legend himself.
A fusion of martial arts and non martial art techniques allows the contender a more natural and innovative level of competing.
Description of Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full body combat that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques and skills, from a mixture of martial arts traditions and non-traditions, to be used in competitions. The rules allow the use of both striking as well as grappling techniques, both while standing and on the ground.
The history of modern MMA competition can be traced to mixed style contests throughout Europe, Japan and the Pacific Rim during the early 1900s
MMA USA
The Mixed Martials Art sport in the United States of America has exploded and rapidly expanding. It is now more popular than boxing. This art is recognised as a main stream sport and enjoyed by the sport loving mass. This is due to a promotional company known as UFC. In our opinion UFC has given a fair image of MMA.
MMA Japan
The sport has a strong presence in Japan. This sport is loved amongst the Japanese as Football is loved by the western world. This sport is recognised and appreciated as a serious sport.
MMA UK
MMA in the UK has a current reputation of violence, sickening and blood, an image of street level underground fighting. This is currently how it is being promoted with no acknowledement of the rich art involved in this particular genre of total body combat.
We wish to revamp the current image associated with MMA and this is only possible with unification code of standard associated with the game.
